Description:
It is the primary responsibility of the Buyer to find the best approved source to meet the customer’s requirements, negotiate favorable terms, and issue a purchase order that accurately reflects the customer’s requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Obtains quotes from vendors to support customer RFQ’s and bid proposals.

Investigates and cultivates new sources for supplies and products.

Utilize existing reporting tools to place purchase orders in a timely fashion to support manufacturing work order and customer sales demand.

Monitor min/max stocking levels for assigned product lines to ensure availability of material and recommend adjustments when needed.

Monitor and action Open Purchase Order reports to ensure that PO due dates are accurate and up to date.

Reviews on-time delivery data for assigned product lines and communicates corrective action requests to vendors.

Actively tracks and monitors low shelf-life material; works actively with affected stakeholders (Sales, Operations, Quality) to minimize the financial impact of expired material.
Required Skills / Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in Aerospace / Defense Purchasing.

Aerospace Chemicals, Hardware & MRO Product Purchasing experience required.

Strong Excel skills preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
