Warehouse Operations Clerk Job Description

Position Summary / Objective:
 

Performs general warehouse duties associated with the receiving of vendor and customer shipments, storing inventory, pulling inventory for the purpose of processing customer orders for shipment, shipping materials (including hazardous materials), supplies, tools, equipment, and parts.  Additional activities may include supporting functions related to inventory control, cycle-counting, labeling, and other related items.

Duties / Responsibilities:
 

Responsibilities may include any/all of the following:

  • Receive and put-away stock into inventory
  • Conduct cycle/inventory counts and inventory control activities.
  • Maintain non-conforming material and process RMAs.
  • Pick, pack, and ship material to customer, DOT, and IATA requirements
  • Inspect inbound and outbound shipments to ensure the transaction meets requirements
  • Load and unload shipments
  • Equipment and facility-related maintenance to support site operational effectiveness
  • Lean and efficiency-related projects, as required
  • Transport and deliver orders via company-provided vehicle
  • Other duties, as required

  • Develop agility through mastering multiple warehouse-related competencies. Advancement involves mastering a majority of the following competencies:  Receiving, Put-Away, Pick, Pack, Ship, Inventory Control, Label, VMI, and Overview/Safety.
  • Reliable and consistently at work and on-time

  • Follow SOP and Work Instructions to ensure process consistency.
  • Maintain training requirements.
  • Adhere to safety and PPE requirements.
  • Monitor for FOd and ensure a clean and clear work area.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize. Must exhibit an attention to detail and show pride in work.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate a sense of urgency. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to safely use equipment designed to move material including dollies, pallet jacks, and forklift, as required.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • [Preferred] Valid forklift operator license or training certification
  • [Preferred] D.O.T. 49 CFR/IATA – Hazmat Training
  • [Preferred] CDL with Hazardous Material endorsement

Physical Requirements or Safety and Ergonomics:

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds

Travel Required:

  • None except on extraordinary circumstances
